Well after midnight
the waning moon finally
hauled its ragged ass
over the rooftops—we might
drag ours home before it sets

2.
Look, the waning moon’s
worn the fuck out, limping up
the sky past midnight—
let’s empty the wine box to
catch its pale ass when it falls
