Singing in the Rain Looking at the World Through a Windshield

Gene Kelly – Singing in the Rain

Singing in the Rain Looking at the World Through a Windshield

The new highway in the rain—unpainted
asphalt black as the long nights between
galaxies the stars’ slow dying
light seeps through

We’re notes in their dirge—all the rods
and cones of our eyes touched by old deaths;
they’re the cords of our throats, red dust
rising around our feet

About John MacKenzie

I'll mumble for ya. Poetry, plus most things quantifiable: science, neuroscience, memory, epistemology, baseball. And so on.
